Dichos señores han remitido un telegrama anunciando su llegada, se han puesto de acuerdo para la ceremonia del entierro y han manifestado que la traslación de los restos no puede hacerse hasta dentro de dos años. A petición de varios señores se leyó la cláusula tercera del testamento otorgado por Zorrilla en Valladolid el 19 de enero de 1884, por la cual suplica al ayuntamiento que reclame su cadaver nada más ocurra su fallecimiento, y le dé sepultura en el cementerio colocando una losa de piedra con la siguiente inscripción: “El poeta Zorrilla, hijo de Valladolid”. \nDeliberación. Ángel María Álvarez Taladriz elogia la figura de Zorrilla. Nicolás de la Fuente Arrimadas expone que dentro de la Ley de Sanidad hay medios para cumplir la voluntad de Zorrilla, y propone que se celebren solemnes funerales cuando lleguen sus restos y que se acuerde elevar un monumento para perpetuar su memoria. El señor San José  cree que debe reclamarse al gobierno el cumplimiento de la cláusula testamentaria, avisando a la comisión por telégrafo para que insista en sus gestiones. Propone que se celebre una velada literaria invitando a la Academia Española y al Ateneo. Álvarez Taladriz propone que el ayuntamiento adquiera la casa natal de Zorrilla y se convierta en biblioteca y museo, depositando en ella las ediciones de sus obras en todos los idiomas que se hubiesen publicado, y que se dé a una de las calles principales el nombre de Zorrilla\nSe acuerda:\n1. Que la comisión que está en Madrid continúe sus gestiones para el traslado de los restos a Valladolid fundándose en la cláusula de su testamento, solicitando una R.O. si fuera preciso.\n2. Adquirir en propiedad la casa donde nació para establecer una biblioteca y museo, donde se encuentren todas sus obras en todos los idiomas que se hubieren publicado y algunos de los muebles y objetos de uso más inmediato que tenga a bien facilitar su viuda, y que se coloque en su fachada una lápida con el busto de Zorrilla y una inscripción con la fecha de su nacimiento y muerte.\n3. Celebrar solemnes funerales en la catedral cuando sus restos se trasladen. Y, en caso de que esto se retrase, el sábado o el lunes próximo.\n4. Celebrar una gran velada literaria en el Teatro Calderón, invitando a tomar parte en ella a la Academia Española, al Ateneo Literario y poetas vallisoletanos.\n5. Dar el nombre de Paseo de Zorrilla a la Acera de Sancti Spiritus.\n6. Gestionar que el monumento nacional que ha de levantarse por iniciativa del Ateneo de Madrid se erija en Valladolid, solicitando también el concurso del gobierno.\n7. Álvarez Taladriz propone que se dé una habitación a la viuda en la casa citada, y ofrece al ayuntamiento, en nombre de Mariano Fernández Cubas, varios manuscritos originales de Zorrilla. El señor Macías propone que se conceda una pensión de tres mil pesetas anuales a la viuda. Eloy Silió indicó que, en el testamento de Zorrilla, se dispone que unos papeles que se encontrarán sellados con el epígrafe “post mortem meam” se recogerán por el señor Mata Maneja, de Barcelona, y se depositarán en el ayuntamiento. Y después de un año dicho señor recogerá los que a su juicio puedan publicarse, y los que no serán archivados en el municipio. El ayuntamiento acordó por unanimidad conceder a Juana Pacheco la pensión de tres mil pesetas anuales y habitación gratuita en la casa donde nació el poeta si fijare su residencia en la ciudad; y que se reclamen al señor Mata Maneja los papeles a que ha aludido el señor Silió. La procesión partirá del palacio municipal y se dirigirá por la plaza mayor y calle de Santiago a la plaza de Zorrilla, en ella figurarán todos los niños y niñas de escuelas públicas y particulares, los estudiantes de todos los centros de enseñanza y todas las autoridades, corporaciones, centros oficiales y de cultura y representaciones del gobierno y otras entidades y poblaciones invitadas. La comisión ha solicitado la cooperación y asistencia del gobierno, Academia Española, Ateneo de Madrid, Sociedad de autores españoles, Asociación de la Prensa, embajador de la República Argentina, ministro de México, ayuntamiento de Toledo, Ayuntamiento, Ateneo, sociedad “El Liceo” y cronista de Granada, ayuntamiento de Torquemada, familia del poeta y varios poetas y representación de la prensa de Madrid. Han ofrecido su concurso la Academa de Bellas Artes, que ha organizado una velada dedicada a Zorrilla, el día 21 a las 6 de la tarde; el Ateneo Científico y Literario, una fiesta literaria en el Teatro de Lope, el día 22 a las 6 de la tarde; el Instituto general y técnico, otra velada, y las empresas de los teatros Calderón y Zorrilla organizan funciones en que representarán obras de Zorrilla.\nLa comisión propone, a fin de que el pueblo entero tome parte en los festejos, que el día 22 se declare fiesta para las oficinas públicas, y que el alcalde invite al vecindario a adornar los balcones con colgaduras, y al comercio que cierre sus establecimientos durante el desfile.
