COLECCIÓN DE FELISA DE LA PEÑA Description An account of the resource Colección compuesta por 63 documentos, fundamentalmente cartas, a las que se unen también varias composiciones poéticas. Desde el punto de vista del contenido informativo, gracias a estos documentos se puede conocer la actividad de Zorrilla en México, especialmente al frente del Teatro Nacional, aunque la inmensa mayoría de los documentos corresponden a la etapa final de su vida, desde su regreso a España en 1866 hasta su muerte. Estas cartas nos hablan de la fama y de su relación con la prensa (cartas de José María Díaz y de Ángel Fernández de los Ríos); de su actividad en el mundo del teatro (cartas de Pedro Antonio Alarcón, Juan Catalina, Carolina Civili o Federico Cejudo); de su actividad social y benéfica (cartas de la duquesa de Gor, condesa de Guaqui y del Real Hospital de Nuestra Señora de Atocha) y de su ingreso en la Real Academia Española (cartas de Manuel Tamayo y Baus y del marqués de Valmar). Además, es especialmente interesante la información sobre las relaciones -generalmente de admiración- de Zorrilla con otros poetas y escritores, palpable en las cartas de Leopoldo Alas, Jerónimo Borao, José Martí y Folguera, León Carnicer, José Velarde o Antonio Fernández Grilo. Por último, en las cartas que intercambia con sus más allegados (Mariano Fernández Cubas, Marqués de Valmar, condes de Guaqui) están presentes también aspectos de su vida privada, como sus problemas de salud y los de su mujer Juana, su permanente necesidad económica, o la incertidumbre por las pensiones de los Lugares Píos de Roma y de las Cortes. FONDO JOSÉ ZORRILLA Description An account of the resource Fondo formado por 20 documentos, la mayoría de ellos títulos y diplomas, que constituyen lo que podríamos considerar como los fragmentos documentales del archivo personal de Zorrilla que han llegado a nosotros procedentes de la casa del poeta. La única carta que contiene este fondo apareció, años después, dentro de un libro de su biblioteca. Desde el punto de vista de su contenido, estos documentos hablan de la pertenencia de Zorrilla a varias instituciones (Real Academia, Sociedad de Autores), y de los homenajes que recibió de ateneos, centros de lectura y asociaciones culturales de España, Cuba, México y Francia, y que fueron donados por Juana Pacheco, su viuda, al Ayuntamiento de Valladolid en el año 1893 junto con la biblioteca del poeta, varias coronas y diverso mobiliario y enseres.
